While
considering the NFL line-up one weekend, Sportsmancave.com became
increasingly agitated by the fact that the Washington Redskins; our
home team, were away for a second week in a row. This got them thinking
about all the things that make Redskins games, and all other major
sporting events, so much fun. As any true sports fan knows, nothing
beats a good tailgate. An ideal tailgate consists of a group of friends
and fans, all rooting for the same team (hopefully), all donning their
favorite players jersey or team apparel, drinking cold beers and grilling
up something tasty. That being said, there are many ways to make sure
that your tailgate is successful, and most a matter of preference.
The birth of Tailgate Times (a weekly blog) was created to recommend,
teach and hopefully learn a few things about making your tailgate
experience both fun and unique (Please post any comments, ideas or
questions you may want discussed in future blogs.
Since
the first season of Tailgate Time, The crew decided to take the "show
on the road" and brind it to Baltimore so see how the two cities
match up and "get down". Tailgate Times will be at FedEx
Field as well as Nationals Park in Washington and M&T Bank and
Camden Yards in Baltimore. Bring your grill, your friends and your
game face.
As
always, your feedback is encouraged.) Below was the designed template
for future blogs. It is to serve as a guide for all future blogs under
The Tailgate Times tab to help you get the most out of the information
present. As will be the trend moving forward and in weeks to come,
each item or idea discussed will be rated based on the experience
author. The grade scale will be as follows:
A) NECESSARY
This
rating is rather self-explanatory. Any idea, item or event labeled
necessary is deemed just that by the author. DO NOT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT
THIS. Items such as these include things like parking passes, grills,
tickets (if you have them), etc.
B) JUST
THE TIP
This
rating is used to describe items the author feels are worth a try,
but not necessarily to die for. It will be used mainly to discuss
different dishes, events, and locations to visit as recommended by
the author and his experiences or feedback from site regulars.
C) SAVE
THE SPACE
Is the
rating that is used to steer you away from items or ideas that showed
great promise and failed miserably. SAVE THE SPACE, we already wasted
ours. Pack an extra case of beer or a nice looking friend before you
bring or attend any of things labeled under this category.
D) OPULENCE
We has
it. This rating will be used to describe only the best, most over
the top tailgating ideas and parties weve ever attended. From
the best spots for beer games to the most delicious foods, things
given an OPULENCE rating have got to be tried, only if even once,
by everyone who loves to tailgate.
Check
back next week, and weeks to follow, to find out where sportsmancave.com
will be tailgating!
